This is an opportunity for people around the state to join together and tell lawmakers how hard the laws are on Georgians with criminals records. This will also be a chance to make clear that the best way to reduce recidivism, increase tax revenue and improve public safety is to pass laws that will “enhance the chance” for Georgians with records to get the jobs, housing and other opportunities that are necessary to lead productive lives.
Attendees will wear orange ribbons because orange is used nationally to symbolize the need to end mass incarceration as well as to reduce the collateral effects on people and communities.
